The most startling aspect of the season will be the array of visiting orchestras: the Los Angeles Philharmonic and music director Gustavo Dudamel, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor James Levine, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and conductor Riccardo Muti, the Cleveland Orchestra and conductor Franz Welser-Most, the New York Philharmonic and conductor Alan Gilbert and the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit.
