Detroit tenor saxophonist and clarinetist Chris Collins met Italian saxophonist Emanuele Cisi in New York in 2007. The two found friendship and inspiration in their common post-bop styles, their similar heroes (John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, et al.) and the important role that their cities -- Detroit and Turin, Italy -- played in shaping their aesthetics.
