La Mer Philharmonia/Cantelli (ICA) Acknowledged during his life as one of the all-time greats, Italian conductor Guido Cantelli was killed, aged only 36, in a plane crash in Paris in 1956. His discography was small, so this release of a BBC broadcast of one of his Philharmonia concerts at the 1954 Edinburgh festivals is of tremendous importance.
