My friend Simon Goss, who has died of lung cancer aged 44, was a social worker for 25 years and a DJ and music promoter for nearly as long.He was a gentle man but a fierce advocate of those he saw as wronged by the system. His parents, the Rev Brian and Zena Goss, were Methodists for whom social justice was a central tenet.
