Sir Paul McCartney commandeered the entire backstage area, drafting in 170 of his own staff. A source said: "Macca spent a fortune to make the backstage his own fortress. Organiser John Giddings has begged Macca for years to play at the festival so whatever he wanted, they were willing to accommodate."
