Dublin pair Solar Bears spent much of 2010 dressing up simple electronics in mutant disguises. Stretched synthesisers became violin-type string sounds, beats were hammered until they were barely there at all and sonic fugs meshed with needlepointed barbs of vocal taken from Japanese children’s choirs and animated adventures. All in all it was a beautiful (and brilliantly weird) trip.
