Sonic Youth preps The Eternal for June release

Sonic Youth is gearing up to release its first album since 2006's Rather Ripped , and once again, the band is going indie. As previously reported , the album, which boasts a tentative June 2009 release date, will find the band joining Ms. Chan Marshall and Stephen Malkmus on indie imprint Matador Records . But now we also know that the record, which is currently in its final recording sessions, has a working title of The Eternal .
