The Afro-beat shrine at the heart of Nigeria's music scene

The New Africa Shrine, a music venue owned and renovated by Femi Kuti, a son of the late Afro-beat legend Fela Kuti, has re-opened one week after the Nigerian authorities closed it down. It's a mecca for lovers of Afro-beat, the synthesis of jazz, fusion and native African rhythms, with Femi Kuti leading the star house band.
