The xx: "VCR" [Video] + "VCR (Matthew Dear Remix)"

Been a while since we've heard from Detroit techno headÂ Matthew Dear (though his side projectÂ Audion had a couple of singles andÂ an EP out last year), but it seems he's found some prime remix material in "VCR", one of the many standout tracks fromÂ the xx's 2009Â debut. Lending the track a thwomping bassline, clacking cowbell, and his own treated vocals, it actually comes off a bit like a Matthew Dear original-- that is to say, it's an engrossing rework of an already stellar track. ...
