Weezer brings music from its sixth album to S.J. State Monday
In 2001, at age 36, the beefy, tattooed heavy-metal bassist Scott Shriner was surprised to get a call from Rivers Cuomo, leader of the young alt-rock band, inviting him to sit in. Shriner, who now ranks as the longest-serving bassist to have worked with Weezer founding members Cuomo, Brian Bell (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Wilson (drums), says he loves playing the band"s music, particularly songs off its latest disc, the third one titled "Weezer."
