Will Oldham, in his own words

That Will Oldham is so closely associated with the South is of little surprise. Much of the musician's recorded output, which he has released under myriad guises since 1993 (Palace Brothers, Palace Music and Bonnie "Prince" Billy chief among them), hearkens to the region's rich musical tradition, touching on everything from slave spirituals to murder ballads to murky blues.
