Review: Philip Glass' and Robert Wilson's wondrous, exhausting 'Einstein on the Beach'

The 4½-hour 'Einstein on the Beach,' which is in Berkeley for three sold-out performances, is part of a tour of the U.S., Europe and Latin America. Having emerged from downtown New York's performing arts scene in 1976 as a hip emblem of the avant-garde, 'Einstein' now enjoys and deserves its iconic status.
